How we make money

You’ll notice that most of our services are free. So, you may be wondering how the site supports itself.

The site is support in part through  advertising. We will always clearly identify advertising and commerce on our site. The fact that certain products and services are advertised on our site or sold through our mall sites is not an endorsement of those products or services and does not influence the editorial content on our site. The site also generates revenue through membership fees to its members either directly or through their employers or organizations

Components of the sites offer product catalogues which generate commissions to us if products are actually purchased. We may also offer products and services directly to members.

At InciteHEALTH and CafeZZ, it’s our mission to provide you with the best seek-and -find platform for reliable health information online. To support this objective, we accept advertising on our sites and merchandise products in our Shopping Mall. The purpose of this policy is to explain the types of advertising that we accept on our site and the limitations that we impose on advertising. It’s also important that you are able to easily differentiate between advertising and site content. We’ve developed an Editorial policy that explains our approach to ensure that the advertising you see on our site has no bearing or influence on the site content and services that we provide to you.

When we speak of “advertising” or “advertisements,” we mean all forms of advertising, sponsorships and promotions for which we receive compensation.

We do not endorse products, services or companies.

Much like we point you to relevant health and wellness information through directories, articles, commentary forums and other resource tools, we at InciteHEALTH AND CafeZZ provide you access to various products and services that you may have an interest in. We  have not evaluated the products and services advertised on our site or sold through our Shopping Mall. The appearance of advertisements is not a guarantee of those products, services or the companies that manufacture, distribute or promote such products or services. The fact that certain products and services are advertised on our site or sold through our Shopping Mall is not an endorsement of those products and services and does not influence other aspects or content on our site. We clearly identify all advertising and product or service sources.

We’ve established guidelines on how we label advertising so that you’ll know what is an advertisement and what is editorial content. We use clear and consistent language and visual cues to distinguish advertising from editorial content. You will see the following descriptors on our site for different types of advertising:

If you click on an advertisement, it will usually link to a website that’s operated by the advertiser. We have no control over the advertiser’s website or the policies on that site. You should familiarize yourself with the terms of use, privacy policies or other policies applicable to those sites before using them.

"Sponsored by" is used to label content when an advertiser has paid for association with an article or service, but the content or service is not editorially controlled or influenced by the advertiser. We identify this kind of advertising by clearly showing that the content or service is "Sponsored by" the advertiser.

"Provided by" is used to identify advertorials, which are content that are created or influenced by advertisers for the purpose of promoting a product or service. We identify advertorials as “advertising” so that you can distinguish them from editorially independent content. You can recognize advertorials on our site by a yellow background, the “Provided by” label at the top of the article, and the name of the advertiser at the end of the article.  This is also true in some advertorials provided via video feeds from various product or service providers.

We don’t let advertisers influence the way search results are displayed on our site.

Search results that are in response to search queries or keywords entered in search boxes on our site are editorially or algorithmically programmed by InciteHEALTH/CafeZZ and its search vendors. Advertisers do not influence the order in which we present search results on our site.

We identify paid advertising that appears along side of search results or on other pages of our site.

Any paid advertising listings posted on search results or other pages of our site will be identified as “Ads by Google”  or some other contextual ad provider. For information about how Google sorts these listings, go to http://adwords.google.com/

We do not accept certain kinds of advertisements.

To help ensure that the advertising on our site is consistent with our mission of helping you to live your best, InciteHEALTH / CafeZZ has adopted certain limitations on the types of advertising that we accept.

• Contains false or misleading claims
• Promotes products that are illegal or whose distribution would violate the law
• Promotes the sale of firearms, ammunition or weapons designed to inflict serious bodily harm
• Promotes the sale of fireworks
• Promotes betting or gambling
• Promotes pornography
• Is for online pharmacies that are not compliant with the Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (VIPPS) program
• Advocates a political, religious or controversial public position or candidate for public office
• Makes health claims that are not adequately substantiated. 

With respect to alcohol and tobacco advertising, we do not accept advertising that promotes alcohol or tobacco products. However, we may accept promotions for educational campaigns such as smoking cessation and responsible drinking messages that are consistent with genuine efforts to educate consumers, rather than surreptitious attempts to promote consumption of alcohol and tobacco.

We provide you with choice and control over personalized advertisements.

We don’t share identifying information about you.

We may share aggregated, non-personal information with advertisers regarding how our site is used. However, information in these summary reports cannot be linked to you individually. For more information about how we protect your privacy, please see our Privacy Policy. 

We will post updates here.

We will review this policy frequently, and we may revise it periodically. If we make changes to this policy, we will post the updated policy here. This policy’s effective date will be identified at the top of the page.
