InciteHEALTH is a portal. It’s mission is to strive to provide you with a search platform, to seek and find current and relevant online health and wellness information quickly and efficiently. As a portal it should be considered as an entry point to other relevant websites. It also provides a platform for members to share their experiences with medical conditions, treatments, wellness and healthy habits. Why share? We believe it is self serving to one's well being to be able to share struggles, triumphs or dilemmas. Second, your story may benefits someone else immeasurably. The purpose of this policy is to explain the ways we ensure that our site is informative and research friendly. The sister site CafeZZ is the complementary social networking site for members. These editorial policies also apply to CafeZZ.
What we do
We provide direction to general medical information, not medical advice. Everyone’s health is different. It’s our goal to help you understand as much as you can about your health and to provide you with a resource facility that identifies the best of traditional Western medicine along with complementary and alternative therapies you may want to discuss with your doctor.
Your health changes over time, and you have a unique health history — which means your doctor and health care team are the only ones who can provide you with specific advice about your health decisions.
This site does not intend to be a substitute for your doctor, so please talk with him or her before acting on any information that you find on our site or anywhere else on the Internet for that matter.
We’re not just illness focused
Being a health and wellness portal, our site is more than just dealing with illness or becoming healthy. Good health or wellness is a constant state of well-being that includes the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of your life. We are positioned to assist you when you’re ill, but we’re also your tour guide to keep you well. We balance our disease and condition information with topics to help you maximize your health and to better care for yourself and those around you.
We’ll make it easy
We want to contribute to your understanding by directing you to health information that’s both in-depth and easy to use. Your health isn’t about medical terms, acronyms and statistics — it’s about you. It’s our goal both to create and gather the best medical information and to make it easy for you to understand and use.
Where our content comes from
Our site comprises four different kinds of content: editorial content, community content, links to other websites, and advertisements. In order to allow you to distinguish among these types of content, we provide you with visual cues. It is important to be aware of the cues and to understand how we treat different kinds of content so that you can evaluate the information provided.
The preambles and introductions to the various sections and categories of our site is the editorial content and is usually in blue text. Editorial content includes articles, video files, audio files, graphics, photographs, calculators, trackers and assessment tools that are published on the site at the direction of our Editorial and Content teams. It is typically very general in nature.
There are 2 types of editorial content:
1. InciteHEALTH content, which we create or commission. It is typically of a general nature, serving as a frame of reference for a given subject matter, as well as create a backdrop for your search. Licensed content, which we license from some of the leading health publishers and trusted names in health care. The sources of editorial content are clearly marked at the beginning or end of each article.
2. Community Content -Community content (material generated by members of our site) appears in articles and comments, video submissions or in the various forums Community content is typically in black text. One of the distinguishing characteristics of our site is our member empowered health approach to health information. Members of InciteHEALTH express opinions, share experiences with doctors, hospitals and medical treatments; post questions, answers and comments within our forums and blogs; create their own blogs; and form social networks in the sister site, CafeZZ.com. We believe that people have important information to share based on their personal experiences and points of view. Because this community content is, by nature, personal and constantly being created, we do not subject it to editorial review. Since everyone’s health situation is unique, we urge you to use caution when evaluating this information. Please see our for more information.
Sites we link to
Sometimes we will link to content published elsewhere on the Web as a convenience to you or to provide additional information. A link to another site does not imply approval or endorsement of the material on the other site. It has not been subjected any review processes.
Incitehealth or the CafeZZ website relies on the sale of advertising to generate revenue. But our need to generate revenue will not influence our decisions about our desire to be fair, impartial and informative in a balanced way. So all of the advertising, promotions and sponsorships for which we receive compensation are clearly labeled as such. Please see our for more information.
Updates to this policy
We will review this policy frequently and may revise it when appropriate. If we make changes to this policy, we will post the updated policy here. This policy’s effective date will be identified at the top of the page.
