Canada Health Care System

can_supcourt128x113.jpgThe health care system of Canada is often praised by many outside Canada as a high grade universal system for all its citizens. Many Canadians consider their health care to be an inalienable right and cherish its universality. Some, especially the more affluent, take issue with a one tier, universal access element when it is at the expense of timely access to the needed service.

So universality is a double edged sword. Universal but sometime not always timely. This section will deal with the issues of the Canadian Health Care system.

We would especially like to hear from Canadians about the Canadian experience with their health care system. Let's get a grass roots viewpoint of how its working.

If the US is embarking on a wholesale shift in its healthcare delivery systems and are looking to the Canadian systems for some of its solutions, it behooves the users of this highly toughted Canadian system to share their experience with the system.

I submit that if you ask both the administrators and the users of the system you will get different perspectives of the same issue.

The macro aspects of the univeral healthcare system is mandated by federal statue and adminstered by Provincial statues within the federal framework. This category will adress some of the positive aspects and the shortcomings of the system.~
